Easter

It's the middle of the school holidays here in Adelaide and the weather is perfect! Perfect for spending time outside, perfect for a family brunch - an Easter brunch in fact, which is what we had planned for last weekend. Unfortunately the weather had other plans and we had to move our brunch inside. But not to worry, we used our ever popular pink daisy grass mats to bring a little bit of the outside inside...

The kids had a fabulous time eating lots of chocolate and hot cross buns... and me?... well, show me a plate of bacon and I'm happy!

Hope you all had a fabulous Easter and are enjoying the break from routine that the school holidays bring.

It seems I forgot something!

Oops! I've just noticed that in the busy-ness of last year I seem to have forgotten to put up a Blog Post about my daughter's 4th Birthday!!

I know "busy" is a very poor excuse, so perhaps the better explanation is that I am probably the world's worst blogger - so I promise to do better this year! To be fair, I did post pictures on Facebook the day after her party, so perhaps I am not a complete failure?!

Anyway, enough excuses... time for some pretty pictures...

There are only 3 days between my daughter's birthday and mine, so we both enjoyed a low-key morning tea with family to celebrate - Barbie Fashion Fairytale was the order of the day!

Cancer Council's Girls Night In – October 2011

No pressure. No dress code. No expectations.

Girls Night In is unique in the fundraising world. The funds raised go towards Cancer Council's ground breaking research, prevention and support strategies for ALL women's cancers.

Whether it's high heels or trackie dacks, 'girl time' is about accepting one another for exactly who and what we are. Many Australian women today have such busy lives juggling work, family and various social and community commitments. Finding face to face time with close friends has become a rare treat. Time spent with girlfriends is special. Whether you laugh or cry (or both!) it's about making a connection, opening up and letting loose.

Whatever it is that you and your girlfriends do to spend time with each other counts as a Girls Night In. Set a date and get the girls together and collect donations in honour of your friendship or a loved one who has lost their battle with cancer.

Every dollar and every conversation counts. Everyone can help. Are you in?

I am, and so is { P } is for Party!

During October, purchase something PINK from { P } is for Party and use the code "GNI" to receive 5% off your order - PLUS - we'll donate 5% of the value of your order to the Cancer Council.

Not planning an event in October, but still want to get involved? Easy! You can make a tax deductible donation via our Girls Night In Fundraising Page.

My goal is to raise $500 for vital cancer research - thanks in advance for your support!

Oh my, how time flies!

It is a hard to believe that it is 12 months ago that I was getting ready for my little girl to turn 3...

... little did I know that in the next 12 months my life would start to take a new and exciting path.

I am well known in my family for spending hours and hours, and many months in advance of my children's birthdays, trawling the internet for unique finds and ideas for their birthday parties. Tara's 3rd birthday was no exception, and at the end of a glorious day spent celebrating with family in our backyard - aka The Garden of Pinkalicious Delights - it was once again suggested that I should start my own party business.

I graciously accepted my family's compliments, but honestly found the whole idea of starting a business too big and overwhelming. It wasn't until late October 2010, when my ever supportive husband once again suggested the idea that I began to think seriously about it. I won't bore you with the rest of the details, but it all kind of snowballed from there. Using my knowledge of party supplies and my husband's computer savy, over the next 7 months { P } is for Party slowly came to life - launching on 13 May 2011. Yes, Friday the 13th!

It has been wonderful to watch the business grow over the past few months, and I have to say I am still recovering from the excitement of seeing some of our products featured in Shop4KIDS magazine less than 3 months after we had launched. I remember thumbing through the party section of Shop4KIDS late last year and nudging my husband and saying "Wouldn't it be exciting if one day { P } is for Party was in here" - dreams really do come true!!

And now, this morning, I'm still getting over the shock of finding so many of our party goodies included in the Party Special Issue of Alphabet Street's Min-Mag.

So, I wonder where I will find myself in 12 months time?

I {heart} perfectly themed parties.

Before having kids I pretty much had my life all planned out (I am a perfectionist after all), but luckily sometimes life has a different idea for us.

I never could have planned for { P } is for Party. Before becoming a Mum I never realised the joy that planning a perfectly themed birthday party would bring me and my little ones, and heck, when I walked out of the University gates and into my chosen career path the worldwide web was in its infancy. Online shopping was unheard of!

{ P } is for Party is born out of my love for quality children’s party stationery and perfectly themed accessories, and is a place for like minded Mums (and Dads) to shop online.

I would love for you to take a look around and let me know what you think.

I hope you’ll agree that { P } is for Party is the place for parties that stand out from the crowd!
